TESSODRIL SHI 40 Shale Inhibitor
Description
TESSODRIL SHI-40 is a partly water soluble asphaltic compound specially developed as a temperature resistance shale inhibitor, torque and drag reducer and fluid loss controlling agent. It is resistance to common mud contaminants and easily disperse/soluble in both fresh and sea water without the addition of supplementary emulsifiers. TESSODRIL SHI-40 has a uniform dispersion in the mud systems and is free 'tar-ball' formation in the mud pits or shaker screen.
Application
TESSODRIL SHI-40 can be used in several application such as shale and fluid loss control, controlling HTHP filtrate, aid in hole stabilization, controlling sloughing shale and reduction of torque and drag.
Recommendation dosage :
– For shale and fluid loss control : 4 lb/bbl
– To aid in controlling HPHT filtrate : 2 – 6 lb/bbl
– To aid in hole stabilization : 2 – 4 lb/bbl
– Reduction of torque and drag : 2 – 6 lb/bbl
– Controlling of sloughing shale : 2 – 8 lb/bbl
As preventive treatment for sloughing shale a dosage of 4 ppb will be sufficient for optimum results, however to overcome the existing shale problems a dosage of 4 – 8 ppb might be needed depending on the severity of the troublesome shale section.

Packing and Handling
TESSODRIL SHI-40 is packed in 25 kg or 55 lbs multi layer paper bag.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin by wearing goggles and gloves. For skin contact wash with water and soap while eye contact flush eyes well with water for 15 minutes and call for medical attention.
